DIY Relaxing Spa Day at Home!

Treat Yo Self!

Everyone deserves a relaxing day! As a mom, you need at least one hour to revive yourself after the days fiascoes. Luckily, I have some mom friends, so I invite the girls over and we put the babies down for a nap. Here are a few things we do to pamper ourselves at home.

1.Get some dish pans from Wal-mart!

These babies are the perfect size for your feet, and for only $2, how could you pass it up? All you have to do is lay out some towels on the floor in front of the couch and boil some water on the stove (you know, so it's sterilized or whatever). You pour in equal parts boiling water and cold water to the desired temperature. Next, add in some epsom salt. You could use scented, but personally I hate the lavender smell, so we use the unscented. You could also pour in a foaming bath soap of your choosing just to feel more luxurious.

2. Get a hair masque or deep conditioner!

This will do wonders for your hair. Try and put this on first before you put on your face mask. It will not only keep your hair out of your face, but the longer you leave them on, the better for your hair. We always pick up the Hi-Pro-Pac Argan oil Masque. It smells incredible and makes your hair super soft.

3. Get a face mask from the store.

We like to use Spascriptions Rose, Gold & Cucumber Gel Face Mask from Walmart for $6. It comes in a three-pack, with a plastic applicator. If you are feeling like you need to add some glow back into your life. I highly recommend the Soo'aee Keeping Glow Coconut Jelly Mask! It works wonders! You could also make your own if you do not want to spend the money and are feeling crafty. Just look up some recipes on Pinterest fro inspiration!

4. DIY Body Scrub

Before soaking our feet in the water, I always make a body scrub. I swear by this recipe because I have extremely sensitive skin and it doesn't break me out. Plus, you make it with everyday kitchen items.

You will need:

  • 6-8 Mint leaves.
  • 1 CUP granulated sugar.
  • 1 TBSP. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 TBSP. Honey.

  1. Muddle the mint leaves in a cup. They do not have to be perfect, just crush them up as best you can.
  2. Combine all the ingredients in some Tupperware (for storage afterwards.) and shake.
  3. Remove lid and use.

This will keep for up to a week. So make accordingly.

You can use this to get the dead skin off of your feet, and legs while soaking. You could also use it in the bath afterwards if you desire.

5. Nail Polish

There is nothing better than having gorgeous feet. It can make you feel confident, especially in the upcoming summer months. We get some acetone and remove the polish from before. I recently found this cuticle oil at dollar tree for you guessed it $1. It's called Natural Ultra Care Coconut Oil. You can put it all over you, but we use it as cuticle oil. We normally find a design on Pinterest and I try and recreate it on our feet. Get creative and look up some tutorials on YouTube! It's actually pretty fun.

6. Try and make a refreshing drink.

Normally I find recipes on Pinterest for a fruit-infused water. All you have to do is fill a pitcher with water, and add some fruit of your choosing, and leave it in the refrigerator overnight.Strawberry and cucumber is my favorite recipe, but you can get creative. It tastes great and the cucumber helps revitalize your skin. I usually make a cocktail or mixed drink to go along with it. You could do wine ,but I've never really been a fan of crushed grapes so i take a different route.

Lastly, try to have fun and relax. None of the DIYs should be stressful. Invite some friends over and unwind! You deserve it!
