As you may or may not know from reading my stories on Vocal. I am currently trying to raise enough money to purchase a tiny house. For the last two months I have been traveling the country staying at places on Airbnb and in hostels.
I’ve been doing this while working full-time as a freelance writer trying to save enough money to buy my own tiny house. Since I graduated college back in 2014 I have been drowning in school loan debt that has basically ruined my life. I am unable to obtain a loan of any sort so funding a house with a loan just isn’t going to be an option for me.
I had to sit down and think out of the box. So that’s when I decided to creatively try and raise enough funds to build my own tiny house. A place where I can write and travel at the same time. Just a roof over my head would be nice.
I’ve done everything from creating a crowdfunding campaign to writing articles. I have even going as far as reaching out to potential sponsors for my tiny house project. So if any of those sponsors see this, please reach out to me. The more help the better. And I will love you for it forever!
I feel like there’s something I’m missing when it comes to trying to raise money on the internet. Other people make it look so easy. Let me tell you, it’s not. I mean who just wants to give their money away anyway? Trust me I get it. But I also know that it can be done. I see people do it every single day. Maybe there’s a secret to it that I haven’t learned just yet? Who knows.
What does my donation go towards?
By donating to my tiny house fund you’ll be helping me complete my mission to put a roof over my head (literally), help me establish a better documentary project here on Vocal, and hold community events in communities across North America to share with the tiny house community.
Help me build a tiny house!
What I’m looking for:
I’m looking for sponsor donations of all types. I want to work with companies large and small to help make this dream possible. I prefer that larger companies (Vocal, Nature’s Head, Lowe’s, Tuft & Needle, Humless, Etc.) reach out to me on my website to discuss media exposure or other work-related donations opportunities.
I’m currently looking for monetary donations, parts, and products to build my tiny house. Though the donation of a tiny house shell would be nice, anything helps and is greatly appreciated! If you want to help me, it's easy just donate to my tiny house fund here.
What’s in it for you?
Your kind donation toward my tiny house fund will help me create a sustainable living environment. It will also help me reach out to documentary subjects, hold & participate in community educational events, and optimize the quality of my publishing film.
If you choose to help me and donate to my tiny house fund I can offer you a variety of work. Those who donate $50 or more to my tiny house fund will receive a shout out on my blog. Donations of $100 will receive a shout out on my blog and their own piece featured on Vocal. And donations that are more than $100 will receive a shout out, a Vocal piece, and their name mentioned in my next Domino Magazine piece.
For me, writing this article was to throw a Hail Mary in the game of football. It took everything in me to do it. If you are able to donate to my tiny house fund, your generosity is greatly appreciated.
If you know of any other creative ways I can fund my tiny house project, please do let me know. I am determined to make this happen one way or another. I am determined to put a roof over my head and to live out my dream in a tiny house.
